WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU

The Purchase of Care Program, also known as POC, is a day care payment program offered to help low income working parents pay for their day care needs. The Department of Social Services takes the applications and determines eligibility for this program. POC helps working parents pay for their day care needs. This is done through a voucher system with the day care provider. To apply for this program the applicant must go to their local Social Services office and request to apply at the front desk. Applications are taken on a walk-in basis and no appointment is necessary.

Purchase of Care has helped many parents pay for day care that they may not have been able to afford otherwise.

The Department of Social Services is able to pay for both licensed and non-licensed providers.
